Course Description

Microsoft Office Access Beginners will assist organizations maintain and manage large amounts of information. One of the most efficient and powerful ways of managing date is by using relational databases. Information can be sorted, linked and managed using a single relational database application and its associated tools. In this course, you will examine the basic database concepts, and create and modify databases and their various object using the Microsoft Office Access relational database application.

 

Prerequisites

Good working knowledge of the Windows Operating System

This course is suitable for trainees new to Microsoft Access. After this Access course you will have a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including how to design and build an efficient relational database, construct data fields and tables, run queries, design forms and build reports.

  Access Level 2 Course

Course Description

Microsoft Office Access Intermediate will provide the basic skills needed to work with Microsoft Office Access database, including creating and working with Access tables, relationships, queries, forms and reports. But so far you have been focusing only on essentials database user skills. In this course, you will consider how to maintain data consistency, how to customize database components and how to share Access data with other applications.

  Access Level 3 Course

Course Description

Microsoft Office Access has provided you with a solid foundation in the basic and intermediate skills of working in Microsoft Office Access . You have worked with the various Access objects, such as tables, queries, forms and reports. In this course, you will extend your knowledge into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities of Access by structuring existing data, writing advanced queries, working with macros, enhancing forms and reports and maintaining a database.

ACCESS COURSE INFORMATION

Which Access Course do I take?

We offer 3 Access courses. A beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each is 1-day. Please read the course outlines above to determine which is best for you. We recommend taking the next level course if you are knowledgable of at least 70% of the beginner course.

Microsoft Access Onsite Course Options

Wherever your office is located, we can come to you and deliver a private custom Access course. The larger the group the bigger the discount. However we also offer Access training for individuals, either at your offices or your home.

For on-site courses, you will need to have a computer with Access and if there are 3 or more delegates, a projection system is required for our Access instructor.

Microsoft Access Public Courses

Currently we offer Public Access courses in the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha and Bloemfontein areas. We can however provide a private onsite course or of course an online Access course is also available

Access Online Courses

If you are unable to attend a public Access course, or simply prefer the convenience of an online course, these are regularly offered. For online Access courses you will need Access installed, an internet connection of 5MB/s or faster and a headset with a mic or use your laptop's built in mic and speakers. All Access course materials are provided digitally. The course is of course, live and fully interactive with engaging teaching.

What else should I learn after my Access course?

Firstly, get the basics done. It is absolutely essential for you to have a good working knowledge of relational databases and Access. If you organization is using large amounts of data, you should consider moving to Microsoft SQL Server or MYSQL. If Access can handle all your data needs then taking the Access level 2 and level 3 courses is highly recommended.

Access training courses are available for all versions

Whether you are using the most recent Access version, or earlier releases such as Access 2010,2013,2016 or 2019, our Access training courses will help you learn the tools you use. When attending a public Access course, we will use the most recent versions for your Access course. If you wish to use an older version of Access for your training, simply let us know and we will work with you on that version. Our Access instructors have been teaching and developing courses for over 15 years, and are happy to address questions and deliver training on all versions of Access.

Microsoft Access is installed on most windows PC's where databases are required in small office environments. It is the least expensive and most accessible Database for windows. Our instructors have been using and teaching Access for over 20 years. Whether you are a beginner or advanced we can assit you.

Prerequisites for enrolling in Access public courses

For the beginner course, no previous experience is required. For the intermediate and advanced Access courses, we recommend using Access for at least 3 months or having attended the beginner course. If you are not sure which level would benefit you, please have a look at the course descriptions for each level. Most of our classrooms, are equipped with Windows computers for use during your Access training class. If you are an Access mac user, you are welcome to bring your Mac with with you. It is strongly recommended that you have a personal installation of Access to use directly after your training
