Course Description

Email has become one of the most widely used methods of communication, whether for personal or business communications. In most organizations, large or small, email is the preferred form of communicating information amongst employees. As email grows in popularity and use, most organizations have found the need to implement a corporate mail management system such as Microsoft Outlook to handle the emails and meeting invitations sent among employees.


In this course, you will explore the Outlook interface and when you are familiar with it, you will use Outlook to manage all aspects of email communications; use the Outlook calendar to manage appointments and meetings; use Outlook's People workspace to manage your contact information; create Tasks and Notes for yourself in Outlook; and customize the Outlook interface to serve your own personal needs.

Anyone that needs to work on Microsoft Office Outlook and perform daily tasks on it.

 

Prerequisites

To ensure success, students should be familiar with using personal computers, and should have experience using a keyboard and mouse. Students should be comfortable in the Windows 7 environment, and be able to use Windows 7 to manage information on their computers. Specific tasks the students should be able to perform include: launching and closing applications, navigating basic file structures, and managing files and folders. Before starting this course, students should have completed one or more of the following courses or possess the equivalent knowledge:

    Course Description

    In this course, you will explore the advanced features provided with the Outlook interface, such as advanced message, calendar, and contacts management. You will use the Tasks and Journal workspaces provided in the application to manage task assignments to you and others, and to record interactions you have with your colleagues. You will also share your workspaces with other users, and use Outlook data files to save and back up your important information.

    This course is designed for experienced Outlook users who need to customise their environment, calendar and E-Mail messages to meet their specific requirements.

    Which Outlook Course do I take?

    We offer 3 Outlook courses. A beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each is 1-day. Please read the course oulines above to determine which is best for you. We taking the advanced course if you are knowledgable of at least 70% of the beginner course.

    Microsoft Outlook Onsite Course Options

    Wherever your office is located, we can come to you and deliver a private custom Outlook course. The larger the group the bigger the discount. However we also offer Outlook training for individuals, either at your offices or your home.

    For on-site courses, you will need to have a computer with Outlook and if there are 3 or more delegates, a projection system is required for our Outlook instructor.

    Currently we offer Public Outlook courses in the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha and Bloemfontein areas. We can however provide a private onsite course or of course an online Outlook course is also available

    If you are unable to attend a public Outlook course, or simply prefer the convenience of an online course, these are regularly offered. For online Outlook courses you will need Outlook installed, an internet connection of 5MB/s or faster and a headset with a mic or use your laptop's built in mic and speakers. All Outlook course materials are provided digitally. The course is of course, live and fully interactive with engaging teaching.

    What else should I learn after my Outlook course?

    Firstly, get the basics done. It is absolutely essential for you to have a good working knowledge of Outlook. More and more companies are demanding expertise in Outlook, whether it is formula’s, pivot tables or dashboard. Taking the Outlook level 2 and level 3 class is highly recommended.
    In addition to Outlook, most office users will use PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
