  Project Management Fundamentals

Course Description

Project Management Fundamentals teaches students basic project-management techniques, including managing time and costs. Students will identify the features and attributes of a project, the steps and variables of the project management process, the effects of environmental, socio-economic and organizational structure issues, and the responsibilities of a project manager. Course activities also cover defining the project scope, writing a project charter, developing a work breakdown structure, identifying time management components, describing schedule development, using mathematical analysis techniques, and assigning resources. Students will also learn how to estimate resource costs, create a capital budget, control the project costs, and compute a project's estimate at completion (EAC) and variance at completion (VAC). The manual is designed for quick scanning in the classroom and filled with interactive exercises that help ensure student success

Which Project Course do I take?

We offer 3 Project courses. A beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each is 1-day. Please read the course oulines above to determine which is best for you. We taking the advanced course if you are knowledgable of at least 70% of the beginner course.

Microsoft Project Onsite Course Options

Wherever your office is located, we can come to you and deliver a private custom Project course. The larger the group the bigger the discount. However we also offer Project training for individuals, either at your offices or your home.

For on-site courses, you will need to have a computer with Project and if there are 3 or more delegates, a projection system is required for our Project instructor.

Microsoft Project Public Courses

Currently we offer Public Project courses in the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha and Bloemfontein areas. We can however provide a private onsite course or of course an online Project course is also available

Project Online Courses

If you are unable to attend a public Project course, or simply prefer the convenience of an online course, these are regularly offered. For online Project courses you will need Project installed, an internet connection of 5MB/s or faster and a headset with a mic or use your laptop's built in mic and speakers. All Project course materials are provided digitally. The course is of course, live and fully interactive with engaging teaching.

What else should I learn after my Project course?

Firstly, get the basics done. It is absolutely essential for you to have a good working knowledge of Project. More and more companies are demanding expertise in Project, whether it is formula’s, pivot tables or dashboard. Taking the Project level 2 and level 3 class is highly recommended.
In addition to Project, most office users will use Project, Word and Project.

It’s essential to know Project and taking an Project beginner course is the best way to start. What will certainly make a difference though, is your level of expertise in Project and knowledge of the other Microsoft products.
